The Plot: "Terminal Velocity, Checkpoint: Deep Freeze"

Wally West is literally vibrating out of existence, and his desperation is starting to alienate the people he loves most.

• The Transformation: Wally's connection to the Speed Force is so intense that his body begins to change. He starts developing "energy patches" on his skin—physical manifestations of the Speed Force trying to pull him in.
• The Cold Shoulder: To protect Linda Park from the pain of his inevitable disappearance, Wally begins to push her away emotionally. It’s a classic Mark Waid character beat: the hero’s greatest strength (his love) being used as a weapon against himself.
• The Flash Family: This issue is great for fans of the "Speedster Union." We see Jesse Quick, Max Mercury, and Bart Allen (Impulse) trying to keep up with a Wally West who is now moving at speeds they can barely comprehend.
• Kobra’s Strike: While Wally is falling apart, Kobra’s plan to use a "geothermal tap" to destroy Keystone City moves into high gear.
