The Plot: "Going the Distance"

Wally has returned from the Speed Force, but he is no longer the same hero.

• The New Power Level: In this issue, Wally discovers he can now lend and steal speed, and his connection to the Speed Force has manifested as a "costume" made of pure energy. He is now undeniably the fastest man who has ever lived.
• The Emotional Toll: After "dying" and coming back, Wally struggles with his humanity. The issue focuses heavily on his relationship with Linda Park, as they both try to process the fact that he chose to come back for her.
• Argus and the Aftermath: The story features a guest appearance by the hero Argus, as they deal with the remnants of the Kobra organization in Keystone City. It serves to show that while the "crisis" is over, the work of a hero is never-ending.
• The "Zen" of Speed: Max Mercury returns to act as a guide, helping Wally understand that he is now a conduit for the Speed Force, rather than just a person with powers.
