The Plot: "Flashing Back"

Thrown into the timestream during the events of Zero Hour , Wally West becomes a "ghost" haunting his own past.

• The Time Loop: Wally revisits his childhood as a lonely, misunderstood kid. He encounters a "mysterious stranger" who gave him a pep talk on his darkest day—only to realize he is that stranger.
• The Speed Force Debut: This issue is vital because it solidified the concept of the Speed Force as an extra-dimensional energy source. It shifted the Flash's powers from mere "fast metabolism" to something cosmic and spiritual.
• The Inspiration: Wally watches himself gain powers and realizes that his journey wasn't a series of accidents, but a legacy he helped build for himself.
