Arion #9: "The Power and the Possession"

In this issue, the focus shifts from physical travel to a more psychological and metaphysical battle. Arion's brother, Garn Daanuth, is no longer content to wait for Arion to reach him; he takes the fight to Arion's very mind.

Plot Highlights:

• The Astral Conflict: Much of this issue involves Arion battling a possession attempt. Garn Daanuth uses his dark sorcery to try and "hollow out" Arion, intending to use his brother's body as a vessel for his own dark power.
• Lady Chian’s Stand: While Arion is mentally incapacitated by the possession, Lady Chian proves why she is the Captain of the Guard. She has to defend Arion’s physical body against mystical threats, highlighting the "Sword" half of this "Sword and Sorcery" epic.
• The Dark Gem: We get more lore regarding the Gem of Garn, the source of the brothers' conflicting powers, and how it acts as a tether between their two fates.
• The Return of the Weaver: Hints of the Weaver, a recurring cosmic-level threat in the Arion mythos, begin to coalesce in this chapter.
